Retrain your brain

Happy Friday,

How was your week? Mine was full of little surprises that added too much fun to an already busy week like Lola surprising me coming back from her winter camp with crutches (she'll be fine, don't worry).

Raising 3 girls is fun, I swear, but having them most of the time paired with building a fulfilling career makes my multitasking skills paramount to the fun part.

Until I learned from Dr. Sahar Yousef & Lucas Miller more about my silly brain:

- like it's easily distracted by stimuli

- wired to prefer easy tasks

- suffers from cognitive overload

- might be neglecting my body's natural rhythms.

Basically, I realized I needed to retrain my brain.

So, I gifted myself to the productivity and performance sprint, and I looooovvveeed learning how to rewire it:

- Did you know that multitasking doesn't exist? But task switching costs us 20-40% in lost time, wait wwwhhhaaattt?

- Knowing your chronotype enables you to protect your peak hours plan to do admin work in your dip and creative work while in the recovery phase. I'm AM-shifted.

- Setting MITs (Most important tasks) and LITs (Least important tasks) every day helps us feel productive and stay focused on our ultimate why.

If you've been reading my weekly email for a while, you know by now that I thoroughly enjoy my section membership, a business education platform founded by NYU Stern professor Scott Galloway

So become a member and treat yourself to this sprint.

Until then

See you next week.
